Diurnale Romanum (with U.S. Propers Insert)

Association IRIS (Econe Seminary)

SKU: 8348

The Diurnale is a single volume edition of the traditional Roman Breviary containing all of the canonical hours of the day, except for the office of Matins, allowing for a compact and convenient daily companion for clergy and laity alike.

In addition to those sections pertinent to the breviary, there are sections in the back that contain various devotional items including litanies, and excerpts from the Rituale Romanum that a priest might need while away from the rectory, such as administering last rites.

This 1961 printing contains the Latin (only) Vulgate Psalter, with the psalms printed in a single column, black and red, easy to read format.

The Diurnale has the propers of the Saints, a table of movable feasts within, and comes with a 16-page, black and red, USA Breviary Propers supplement, containing the feasts proper to the United States per the 1962 calendar.
1007pp. Sewn, black cloth hardcover with gold embossing.

Nice!

Nice size, fits perfectly in the hand and easy to carry around. Having the Psalms in single column format makes reading them so much easier than parallel columns. It would have been nice if this Diurnale had included a couple of more ribbons, but it is easy enough to add them with an after market ribbon insert.
