What does it gain a man to have his whole life perfectly organized but to lose his soul?

Officium Divinum

It's so easy to lose sight of God in our busy world. But the Church gave us the answer from the very beginning when she structured her official prayer around a framework of the psalms prayed eight times a day so that within one week, all 150 psalms are said.

Prayers for all hours

Here you have the most critical hours of the Divine Office for the layman in the world. Prime is the perfect Morning Prayer, Compline the perfect night prayer, and Sext is for the middle of the day.

Join your voice with the Church and her members

This is better than private prayer; it's the prayer of the entire Mystical Body because you pray with one heart with the millions of other clerics, religious and laymen around the world who have prayed and are praying these exact same prayers, AND because you adopt the intentions of the psalmist as you pray.

A Better Participation on the Liturgy

When understood correctly (this edition has a short explanation preceding each psalm), these are the intentions for which Holy Mother Church wants us to pray for ourselves, for the Church and for all the members of the Mystical Body of Christ.

Our Lord, our Lady, and the Saints prayed these psalms.

Beautiful

What a beautiful book! Having only recently discovered the Liturgy of the Hours and purchasing this sight unseen on a whim, it’s become surprisingly dear to me. I bought it for weekday Vespers (not included; it wasn’t apparent to me on the website that this is a separate book), I soon found myself singing Compline nightly. This book has enriched me in unexpected ways. Just be aware that this book does not include all the hours. Also propers are not included (though perhaps might be offered as a paper insert in the future?).

It will do, but I wish it had all of the little hours for Sunday and not just sext. It will be okay perhaps for using in a pinch when I have no access to the internet or mobile phone usage is prohibited. My church discourages mobile phone usage in chapel, but I need it for the Divine Office. That is why I would have preferred all of the little hours of the office to be included on Sunday. I could use terce in addition to sext. If only I could obtain a complete copy of the Divine Office in English. I say every hour from Prime to Compline every day of the week. Oh well.

Picked up a copy for Compline that you had, and pleased with it! Thank you! I’d like to get a copy of this Divine Office book you do also, but it’s currently out of stock looks like. If you can come up with some more copies, that would be great!

My favorite. Small, simple, very nicely done.

Simple and easy to use for me. I was discouraged by complete office. Great little lessons in introduction and explanations before each hour. Quality materials like church books I remember many years ago. I love it. Thank you Angelus.

Beautiful Book - You won't regret - Important Investment

This book is beautifully crafted and comes with two ribbons. The reason why the book is larger than other Divine Office books is because it is meant to be used with a choir. There are CHANT sections in the book, which is an added bonus! I've been studying the different versions of The Liturgy of the Hours and also have the four volume set. I find myself using this one in tandem with (or instead for that particular hour). I love the Latin/English. The book is very easy to figure out how to use. The book contains beautiful commentaries. I've also made a playlist for each hour from Day in the Cloister by the Daughters of Mary and it is helping me pick up the Latin very quickly. If you have a passion for The Divine Office, this is something you will want in your collection. It would also make a perfect gift. The book Is very sturdy and yet manageable to place in your book bag while traveling. I am so pleased to have purchased this book. Thank you to Angelus Press for making this book available to the public.
