My Prayer Book (Lasance)

The subtitle is "Happiness in Goodness." This is a complete prayer book that also contains counsels and reflections on the pursuit of happiness. "Be of Good Cheer," "One Little Secret of a Happy Life," and "Charity. The Greatest Thing in the World" are just a few of the many counsels and reflections found at the beginning. There is a structured list of prayers to say at morning, evening, during the day, at The Blessed Sacrament, etc. There is also a list of general and miscellaneous devotions at your disposal. "His Holiness (Pope Pius XI) wishes that these volumes, which assuredly will promote the spiritual life, may receive an ever-increasing welcome in all the Christian families of your great country." (from a letter to Father Lasance written at the Pope's direction, May 10, 1927). "This is one of Father Lasance's books to which His Holiness refers in the above letter."

There are riches on every page. The language is so very uplifting. Everyone should own a copy. This was originally published 9 years before the apparitions at Fatima. One can easily adapt the words Thy and Thee for You and the prayers are magnificent! Get the hard cover, the font in the soft cover edition is too small. I very highly recommend this. It's the only prayer book I ever use.
