Archbishop Lefebvre: A Documentary from Society of St Pius X on Vimeo.
Between this video and Archbishop Lefebvre's book "The Mass Of All Times" (another recent purchase of mine), it's quite easy to see a modern version of the prophet Elias in 3Kings 18:21,36~39 in Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre. In these verses we can easily imagine Vatican II and all of its changes quenching the fire that Jesus Christ, in what He taught His Apostles and Disciples, had kindled and was rekindled by the Council of Trent. Going back to the True Mass, True Sacraments, and True Teachings as from Jesus, once again rekindled the flame in my heart and the hearts of countless others for God's One True Church.
It's easy to see how pleased God is with the work that Archbishop Lefebvre was His instrument in rekindling through his guidance with the SSPX, just as the prophet Elias had in his battle against the prophets of Baal (new Mass, new Sacraments, new teachings, new Church! Not the Church that Christ built!).
Catholics must now decide the answer to Elias's question in 3Kings 18:21: "How long do you halt between two sides?..."
Christ's Ordo or the Novus Ordo?
The ending of the video seems to be facing the same challenge. Should the SSPX take a lesson from the Archbishop, their founder and not allow the Novus Ordo hierarchy to take them off the course that God has them on or should they go ahead as Archbishop Lefebvre and consecrate more Bishops to fill the vacancies they already have and to assure the future of tradition by adding enough to that number to cover their growth and future needs.
I pray that they go as Elias did in getting the people to recognize the truth that Elias told in verse 39: "And when all the people saw this, they fell on their faces, and they said: The Lord He is God, the Lord He is God."..
and do what Archbishop Lefebvre did and consecrate more Bishops.
This film is a chef d'oeuvre, a hymn to God. I felt I was with Monseigneur Lefebvre all along his sacerdocal journey.I felt his joy, his devotion, his trust and then his doubts about Vatican II, his confusion, his utter sadness. I was praying all night while he was praying. Then I cried the tears I am sure he shed.
Does this video has English subtitle?
Indeed it was very moving and excellently made. A must see movie in an age where most television is spiritual garbage. The best part was hearing the voice of Archbishop Lefebvre.
with beautiful documentary footage, firsthand commentary from those most intimately acquainted with the Archbishop (family, friends, fellow priests--both SSPX and non-SSPX, religious et al.), and much more! This film is also deeply spiritual--like the man whose life it documents. I speak as one who is not a follower of the SSPX but merely as a recent Catholic revert (former Evangelical) who is deeply in love Christ and His Church: watching this film brought me closer God.
