Where Is Catholicism Today?

The true friends of the people are neither revolutionaries nor innovators, but men of tradition. -Pope St. Pius X (1835-1914)

Is Tradition Excommunicated answers the questions surrounding the June 30th, 1988 episcopal consecrations; shows their necessity for the preservation and spread of Catholic Tradition; and demonstrates how they were in conformity with the mind of the Catholic Church.

Get this collection of eight independent studies today and learn what concepts like "excommunication" and "schism" truly mean. Learn the legal status of the Latin Mass and traditional sacraments, and what this means for those who frequent them. Also included are the 1988 declaration of Bishop de Castro Mayer and a timeless letter of St. Athanasius, who found himself in a situation that looks very familiar to traditional Catholics today.

Even if Catholics faithful to Tradition are reduced to a handful, they are ones who are the true Church of Jesus Christ. - St. Athanasius (297-373)

A traditional explanation of tradition

Those of us who have been around for a while have the 1993 edition of this text on our shelves. It has a blue cover. It also contains accolades from the Archbishop himself who suggested that it was the best short, single-volume explanation of the propriety of the response to the crisis plaguing Holy Mother Church. Bottom line: for anyone wanting a orientation and primer on the difference between magisteR and magisteriUM - teacher vs. the (Deposit of) Faith - and on the legal realities of the so-called penalties imposed on the 6 bishops (the first time around) and the 6 (the second time), this collection of accessible but supremely theological and precise essays and articles is not to be missed. You neglect this book at your peril.

Excellent introduction to the history of this extremely nuanced situation. People who don’t understand the SSPX should read this book alongside or after Open Letter to Confused Catholics. 👍
