SPIRAL BOUND ORGAN/CHOIR EDITION.

As promised, this second edition is greatly improved: containing over 400 chants and hymns (50% more than the first edition), with the harmonizations brought into conformity with what is commonly in use.  We have also made vast improvements to the organization of the materials.

It contains all the most commonly-used chants and hymns in traditional communities including:

  • Ordinary Chants of the Mass, Asperges, Vidi Aquam, tones for the Mass responses, etc.
  • Kyriale (Kyrie, Gloria, Sanctus, Agnus Dei) in Gregorian notation for ten Masses. Five Credos 
  • Hymns and chants for every liturgical season, Feast day, and general use, e.g., Sacred Heart, Blessed Virgin Mary, Holy Souls, etc. 
  • Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament
  • Confirmation Service
  • Marriage Service and Nuptial Mass
  • Requiem Mass and Burial Service 
  • Litany of the Saints, Rogation days Procession, Forty Hours Devotion. 

This is the Spiral Bound Choir/Organ version of our 2nd edition Traditional Hymnal making it easier for organists to use. It contains all the indices of the Choir Edition to make this one of the easiest hymnals to use. We’ve included an index for Titles, Authors, Translators, and Composers, and even included a compatibility index to the first edition hymnal.

Great quality

Exactly what I expected.

The size of the book makes the binding very difficult to maintain.
The sample pictures did not indicate sufficiently what was in "normal" music notation and what was in Gregorian notation. Unfortunately on receipt, my wife found it disappointing.

Well organized

I love the idea of this, and the format is great. However, the spiral binding is very flimsy and the pages unbind themselves every time the book is moved. I had to manually "rewind" about 50 pages after laying the book flat on the piano ledge. Other than the binding, it does lay flat easily for actual playability and every page is clear. Additionally, the various indexes in the back made it very easy to premark chants and hymns.
